ABOUT THE
GOURMET LADY

The Gourmet Lady, back when she was just called “Carrie,” stopped for lunch in Yachats, Oregon during a 2003 vacation. Lunch magically stretched into a two-week stay, and she found herself moving to Yachats just a few months later, quickly embracing the beauty of small-town life. People were friendly. Life was good. She socialized and spent time working quietly and writing at her desk, enjoying the ocean view. One day, while driving 30 miles to find ingredients for a favorite recipe, the idea for a gourmet food shop was born. Talking to locals everyday, she’d come home with little scraps of paper that said things like “lingonberry jam,” organic spices,” “dark chocolate,” “lemon curd,” and “scone mix.” The locals loved the idea of a gourmet food shop and so The Gourmet Lady got busy. After holding a 3-day show on Valentine’s Day weekend, a website was developed and the search began for a good location for the shop.

You can shop on line or visit the store at Highway 101 and 4th Street in Yachats, Oregon. Look for the pink banners, located one block south of the Town Commons. The Gourmet Lady is open Thursday through Sunday, 11am-5pm.  On Mon-Tues-Wed, we are "open by chance" -- just look for the neon open sign or call 541-547-5275.  The store will be closed for vacation from Nov 10-18 (but WILL be open on Saturday, Nov. 15 for wine tasting).  We resume winter hours on Thurs, Nov. 20. In addition to the items you see on line, you will find fresh foods such as cheese, bread and almond cake. We have a wonderful selection of wines from Oregon and around the world.
