The December 2005 edition of Food and Wine has a lovely GIFT GUIDE, which I've enjoyed reviewing. I have some of the items they have spotlighted, but have many more gourmet food items that are even better.
In fact, quite a few of the items at Gourmet Lady and www.iloveginger.com would make wonderful gift suggestion features in a national publication such as Food and Wine. (Blatant note to publicist with lovely footwear: Guess what's included on your to-do list for 2006?)
And in the Must-Have books of 2005, I saw a few that looked particularly interesting:
"Don't Try This at Home" (Kimberly Witherspoon, Andrew Friedman) -- a dishy collection of stories by 40 star chefs about their most outrageous cooking disasters.
"Cheese" (Max McCalman) - a primer on 200 favorite cheeses and wine pairing suggestions.
"Julie and Julia" (Julie Powell) - Julie Powell decides that before her 30th birthday, she will try all 524 recipes in Julia Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking."
Blatant note to the Gourmet Lady's favorite sister, known for giving wonderful books as gifts: I haven't read these books yet. |
