Well hello there, blog readers. I’ve managed to survive the Christmas holidays, the January break, and Valentine’s Day too. January break was delightful – and I spent three fabulous days at the San Francisco Fancy Food Show, hunting for new products. I’ve already added various nuts & snacks to the inventory. You can read a ginger related blog at www.iloveginger.com
And here’s something else I did in San Francisco – met one of my blog readers. Don’t raise your eyebrows, not a stalker – really. A nice gentleman who had read my praises of a particular wine in my wineblog at www.thewineplace.biz and simply had to buy a quantity of it.
And, I did luxurious things like read books. One was the “Science of Shopping” in which Paco Underhill talks about shopper’s behaviors. Fascinating stuff if you’re a retailer and/or if you are a statistics nut like me. OK, it’s not on the best seller list – but I loved it.
I also truly enjoyed “Julie/Julia” – written by a gal who embarked on a project to cook all of Julia Child’s recipes from Mastering the Art of French Cooking – 524 of them – in a year. In this book, we meet her family, husband, friends, and see vignettes of life in New York, all the while enjoying many interesting and complicated cooking challenges.
