A few weeks ago, I attended the International Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. This was my chance to meet vendors, try new products, and be in a room full of "foodies." Heaven!
Being not much of a morning person, I'm not sure what possessed me to sign up for an 8:30 class, which meant hopping on a 7:10 ferry, which meant leaving the house at 6:45, which meant getting up at a horrible hour. Did I mention *not* being a morning person?
The class was well worth the extra effort, and I learned all sorts of great stuff about websites and internet sales. I think my web designer must have taken this course already, as she did everything "right" on my site already.
It was a long, strenuous day of sampling gourmet food, but as you know, I am dedicated to my profession. Watch for new products in the store very soon, and new stuff on the website later in the spring.
Gerry Thompson, aka the "nice" lady who works in the shop, has bravely tackled processing internet orders and printing UPS labels while I have been away. Having had perhaps her fill of this for now, she'll soon escape for business & pleasure trips with her sweet husband, which means she'll have a good time but also be happy to come back to work again in March. Lynne, the gal who came in for a bottle of wine, ending up helping for "just a day," and then working 3 more months, will return for February so I can continue to vacation, and of course, strategize.
The shop re-opens on Friday, Feb 2, with winter hours of Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon 11-5 and many other times by chance.
