Two couples are visiting from Kansas City. All four of these folks are delightful and one of the gentlemen is such a character, he may as well wear a sign around his neck that says "dish it out, I can take it!" The ladies were shopping and admiring the lemon curd and clotted cream. The men were next door buying wine. The ladies could not seem to get the men interested in the concept of afternoon tea, but they still bought some scones, lemon curd, and clotted cream. They returned the next day to report that instead of "high tea", they had what they called "high tide, low tea." First they had some Rogue beer/ale, and then scones, lemon curd, and clotted cream. An interesting combination. They looked like they were having fun. Today the two ladies came in to buy wine for Mr. Character's birthday. I changed the $20 merlot price tag and put a new $150 tag on it, and changed cranberry wine $15 tag to $48.50. Hope he likes the pricey wine. |
